（1）MG'sのこの曲、はじめて聞いたな。ポール・サイモンの曲。ドナルド・ダック・ダンのベースが快調＆快調。いやいや、待てよ、カッティング・ギターもだな。いや、オルガンだって（以下省略）
ストレートにハッピーを叫ぶウィリアム・ベルの楽しい（5）、なんならモータウンっぽい。後半の転調部分には独特の哀愁。
オール・スターズ的な（7）の楽しさ。ブッカーTのだろうか、エレピが渋い（8）。ジョニー・テイラーとカーラ・トーマスの絡みを、バックも盛り立ててご機嫌な（9）。（10）、（11）と、なんともウキウキな曲が続く。マッド・ラッズ（14）で少ししっとりして、これもいい感じ。
（16）は、バーケイズによる「真夜中のカウボーイ」、おもしろい、ヒップ！
なんか結局、Booker T. & the MG's の曲ばかり聞いている気もするが、（18）、いやー、かっこいい！
（19）エモーションズのハイ・トーンは、唯一無二。ハイ・トーンにはミニー・リパートンやリンダ・ルイスもいるけれども、スタックス時代のエモーションズのゴスペル感はすばらしい。
（21）、アイザック・ヘイズのねっとり「ウォーク・オン・バイ」。バカラック・カバー集には必ず入れたい。
