Origami is the second album of Ichiko Aoba (青葉市子) published in 2011. Here, her distinguished style is unchanged from the debut album, Kamisori Otome.

Origami (檻髪) is a word coined by her. The sound of origami is the same as the word for paper folding art (折り紙). The character Ori (檻) means a cage, while Kami (髪), which is pronounced as Gami in a pattern of liaison, refers to hair. This title seems to represent metaphorically the motif of the album, chains and liberation from them, as also shown in an illustration in the inner jacket perhaps drawn by herself.

Recently I only listened Kamisori Otome and Zero, without no intentional reason. Now trying the second album in a long while, I find here her voice is younger than at present and so sounds different and fresh. The softer touch in the second album makes the freshness clearer than in the first one.
This beautiful album consisting of 8 songs lasts only for 22 minutes. It is like something melting soon.
